Holy Names 2 vs. Bainbridge 1
Bainbridge out-hit Holy Names 9-4, but didn’t get enough timely ones — or breaks — to win Thursday’s Metro League semifinal fastpitch game against Holy Names at Lower Woodland. Holy Names took advantage of a ball lost in the sun and an error on the subsequent relay throw to beat scored in the eighth inning for a 2-1 win. Bainbridge (15-5) will take on West Seattle today at 3 p.m. for third and fourth place. Both advance to district, which begins Thursday. Haylee Baker was 3-for-4 and Chelsie Kakela doubled in the Spartans only run in the seventh. Holy Names (19-2) will play Blanchet for the title.
