Bulldogs Win Another Fastpitch Crown
By Kitsap Sun Staff
April 26, 2007
Belfair
Despite leaving nine runners stranded, the North Mason Bulldogs clinched the Olympic League fastpitch title on Wednesday, thanks to a 3-0 win over the Sequim Wolves.
As always, North Mason pitcher Katelyn Stanley was solid on the mound, keeping Sequim off-balance and locating her pitches. Stanley improved to 12-2. Catcher Anna Heitstuman went 2-for-3 with an RBI as the Bulldogs scored two runs in the second inning and added an insurance run in the fourth. Up next for North Mason will be back-to-back games against Klahowya Tuesday and Wednesday. The Eagles, a half game behind Sequim, are looking to avoid finishing in third place as that team has to play a qualifying game to enter the district tournament.
Starter n/a, Carley Swingle (4) and Marquita Espinoza. Katelyn Stanley and Anna Heitstuman. WStanley (12-2).
