Sophomore catcher Elena Carter hit a two-run homer in the top of the eighth inning, keying Black Hills' wild comeback win. Christie Linn went 4-for-5 and struck out 13 batters to fuel the win for Black Hills, which is 2-1 for the season. Amanda Whitehead tripled in the eighth after Carter's homer and scored on Linn's single up the middle to give the Wolves an 11-8 lead. "We're so young, at this point they're still learning," Black Hills coach Janene Thompson said. "The eighth inning was the big thing. "These kids are going to give me a heart attack." Lincoln scored two runs in the bottom of the eighth, and the game ended with the Abes having a runner on third.
Klahowya 11 vs. Olympic 9
The Klahowya Eagles (4-1, 4-0) rallied past the Olympic Trojans with six runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. Klahowya had eight doubles.
