2009 Sidewinder Tryouts
Announcing tryouts for the Fall 2008/Summer 2009 edition(s) of the Washington Sidewinder 18 Gold, 16A, 14A and 10U Summer Teams. The Washington Sidewinders will be fielding four teams for the 2008/2009 season.
The Washington Sidewinders will be fielding ONE 18 Gold team for the 2008/2009 season. Coached by Darryl Rabb and Mike Rayner our 18 Gold team will focus on both college exposure and 18 Gold championship play. The Washington Sidewinders will also be fielding a top 16A team whose primary goal will be to qualify and play at 16A ASA Nationals. This 16A Washington Sidewinder team will be coached by Danny Eng, Doug Greenup and Rachel Koenig. The Sidewinder 16U will compete in several college exposure tournaments as an 18 Gold College Exposure team. Currently we plan to send this team to the Colorado Fireworks, Las Vegas JO Classic, Octoberfest and Surf City tournaments. The Washington Sidewinder 16A team will also participate in all ASA National Qualifiers with the ultimate goal of playing and WINNING at 16A ASA Nationals.
The Washington Sidewinders are pleased to be fielding a 14A team for the 2008/2009 season. This Sidewinder team will be coached by Paul Souza and Jon Haywood. The Sidewinder 14A will play in both local and out of state tournaments. This team will play in ASA qualifiers with the goal of playing at 14A ASA Nationals.
We will also be fielding a competitive 10U team coached by Lynn Batchelder whose focus will be on fun and the development of basic softball skills. This team will play in Puget Sound area ASA tournaments.
New for the 2009 season will be the Washington Sidewinder 23U Women's Team. This team will offer a competitive team to college players wanting to stay "in the game" and in softball shape. This team will play in several Western Washington 18 Gold and 23U invitational tournaments. In addition, the Sidewinder 23U will play in the 2009 Canada Cup. College players interested in the Sidewinder 23U team should email Doug Greenup (doug@minisoft.com).

August 10 (Sunday) 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Player registration begins at 1:00 PM. Tryout location will be Washington High School in Tacoma.

The Washington High School softball field is behind the school.
Washington Sidewinder 16A Tryouts
August 16 (Saturday) 9:00 AM. to 3:00 PM. Tryout location will be the Kent Service Club Fields. Player registration begins at 8:15 AM @ Field#1. We will be trying out on all four fields.

Tryouts for the Sidewinder 18 Gold and 16A Sidewinder teams are by invitation only. Registration through the form located on this website is required. Our 14A and 10U team tryouts are open to all age eligible players. We would still like 14U players to fill out a tryout registration for 14A tryouts.

About the Sidewinders!
The Washington Sidewinder teams will play very competitive tournament schedules next season. Our teams will participate in the prestigious Colorado Fireworks, Las Vegas J.O. Classic, Florida Rising Stars, Bay Area Fall Invitational, Surf City and Orange County Batbusters pre-Thanksgiving college exposure tournaments. All Sidewinder teams will play in ASA National Qualifiers with the ultimate goal of playing and WINNING at ASA Nationals. The Washington Sidewinders are one of the premier college exposure fastpitch programs in the Northwest with significant corporate and community sponsorship. Only top quality, hard working, dedicated players are asked to join our teams.
